Tack Fairing

BOARD AND MAST PROTECTION
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

The new tack fairing design and material supplies massively improved abrasion protection and cushion, while making it very convenient to rig your sail, allowing for easy access to all areas of interest. The small grooved polygon tiles make it easy to fold the fairing up while adjusting your downhaul.

Poly Clew

OUTHAUL SYSTEM
ON BANZAI, ECLIPSE, GURU G4 AND NEXUS

The Poly Clew offers you the possibility to dial in a fine-tuned outhaul which in turn affects the allover handling of your sail. You may use the upper ring, the lower ring or a combination of the two. This will effectively engage either the upper, lower or both Stretch Control tendons, with the upper feeling more direct and the lower feeling more flexible.

Stretch Control

STABILITY SYSTEM
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

This system was created by our sail designer Jason Diffin, and has proven to massively increase the range of any sail size. Stretch Control keeps the lower part of the sail full and driving, the mid stable and active and the top properly twisting. The result is a super light sail with a massive wind range and a highly comfortable feeling.

Double Stitching

high load area REINFORCEMENT
ON ALL PRODUCTS

Wefve made a conscious decision to stop the madness of annual product cycles. Think of us in terms of a sports car manufacturer rather than a fashion label. We build lasting icons, not seasonal trends. What you get is a refined product that will be relevant for a long time. We update products based on added quality, not on calendar pages.

Scrim

LIGHT WEIGHT FILM
ON ALL PRO SAILS

All PRO sails have about 70% scrim in their main panels. Scrim is a third lighter than X-Ply. Scrim strops tears from traveling. It is very soft and supple and gives sails an organic, smooth and alive feeling. With scrim the energy transfer from wind to membrane to stretch control to boom and into the riderfs hands is instant and electrifying.

Scrimforcement

LIGHT WEIGHT REINFORCEMENTS
ON ALL PRO SAILS

We use scrim underneath all reinforcements, and you can feel the difference in how the material transitions evenly into the load zones. It makes the elements of the sail work better together, reduces weight, lasts longer and rolls tighter.

Reduced Head

reduced head outline
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

The Reduced Head reduces head “wag” and makes the sail much quieter in the hands, which increases comfort and control, meaning more time for you on the water. It also results in less leverage on the head batten in wipeouts, meaning less broken battens.
Line indicates standard outline.

Ever Clear Vision

PVC WINDOW
ON GURU G4, GURU S AND SURF

This window can be found on the Guru G4 as well as on itfs smaller sibling, the Guru S, and even the little Surf sails have one. The window can always be polished back to itfs initial beauty, no matter how old your sail is and much youfve put it through.

Product Cycles

PROLONGED topicality
ON ALL PRODUCTS

With this team, in this time, development is basically unstoppable. Sometimes that means a year can be too long before we see the next update, and sometimes that means a product is so refined that it stands its ground for a couple of seasons. That is why we update our products based on added quality, not on a seasonal calendar.

Understatement

WHITE SCRIM LOOK
ON BANZAI, ECLIPSE AND GURU G4

The first white Goya sails emerged a long time ago as prototypes, but with the demand as high we instantly decided to introduce them as a distinct color combination. To this day wefre still releasing this special look for those interested in that gbelow the radarh approach.

Carbon

PERFECT STIFFNESS
ON STRETCH CONTROL

Carbon in being used to ensure maximum stiffness for the Stretch Control System resulting in greatly improved articulation of the concept over standard materials.

Titanium

MAXIMUM STRENGTH
ON POLY CLEW RINGS

When we decided to add rings to our outhaul system instead of puncturing holes into our sails using grommets or eyelets or rivets that hold plastic apparatusses, we also opted to go for the best available material. Titanium. No rust, no bending, no compromise.

Spectra

FIRM FIT
ON BATTEN TENSIONER LOOPS

Spectra is used to ensure a tight fit of our battens. These yarns hold the batten tensioners in place and offer just the right blend of stability and flexibility.

Kevlar

ULTIMATE RESISTANCE
ON REINFORCEMENTS

Kevlar can be found in our scrim reinforcement yarn, all along the sleeve panel, as well as in the anti-chafe sleeve top, that is the front-most part of the black shape in the top of the sail, notorious to be in touch with asphalt, rocks, sand as well as your hands, so we thought it might be nice if it still felt and looked good after your session.

Nylon

Ultra durable. unbreakable.
ON WEBBINGS AND MINI BATTENS

Nylon is being used on parts and pieces of the sail that either see a lot of abuse or need to remain intact at all cost even if the rest of the sail is coming apart in the white water. This includes the core webbings that hold the structure of the sail in place.

Stainless Steel

STRONG. VERY STRONG.
ON TACK PULLEY

Our tack pulley are made from stainless steel so as to ensure that you will enjoy its flawless ease of rigging and derigging for a long time. On top of that itfs strong. Very strong. The building block of our downhaul. One less thing to worry about when charging the lip of a massive wave.

Sleeve Opener

EASE OF RIGGING
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

This litle fellow facilitates the rigging process by offering an opening suitable to insert the mast in one go. And granted, itfs a sweet spot to place a logo.

Sleeve Rip Stop

HOLDING THINGS TOGETHER
ON SLEEVE

The sleeve material on all Goya sails is a special weave of fabrics preventing tears from traveling and holes from widening. Simply put, it makes your sail look and perform better for longer.

Batten End Guards

PROTECTING THE BATTEN SLEEVES
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

One of the environments that your sail suffers in the most is not out on the water during a stormy day but before and after that stormy day, rigging and derigging on rough pavement or asphalt. That is why we are protecting the batten ends with little guard to prevent chafe.

Tack Foot Edge

SAIL PROTECTION
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

The rubber tubing on the tack foot of your sail is a great protection against the texture of your board, which would otherwise rapidly wear the sailfs edge out.

Sail Wrapper

EASE OF RIGGING AND ROLLING
ON ALL GOYA SAILS

These are a classic, but no sail would be complete without them, so they come as a standard. On all Goya sails.

7 Mil Monofilm

WHEN IT BREAKS YOU ACTUALLY WANT IT TO
ON ALL MONOFILM WINDOWS

Yes, we are using Monofilm in our windows, but the foil used is a 7 mil material that is almost double the thickness of most other foils in the industry, making it quite bulletproof. When it does brake you actually want it to because otherwise you would most likely get hurt. For the chart, this foil is more puncture resistant than 5 mil X-Ply.
